Inspections

The El Segundo Fire Department is committed to improving public safety through the enforcement of building standards relating to fire and panic safety as adopted by the California Building Standards Commission and any other regulations that have been formally adopted by the City of El Segundo for the prevention of fire or the protection of life and property against fire or panic.

The El Segundo Fire Department inspects the following types of buildings:

• Apartments
• Condominiums/Townhomes
• Hotels

The frequency of inspections are based on type of building. Apartments, 3 units or more, condominiums/townhomes, and hotels are inspected annually for compliance with building standards and other regulations of the State Fire Marshal (Health and Safety Code § 13146.2).
